Do you know when people ask me what I do, I say "I'm a stay at home Mom". Is that a scream or what? Seriously… even if I wasn't a photographer/rodeo secretary, what stay at home Mom REALLY stays at home? Stay at home Mom's should have a different title… like CEO of the Offspring… or Chairman of Household Operations. Stay at home Mom just doesn't sum it up.
I have really missed blogging… not showing you photos from photo sessions, but just blogging about my world. Which, by the way, is totally out of control. I have WAY over committed myself for this fall and right now I just have my chin tucked and my head dropped and am trying to push my way through it. Otey was giving me a pep talk the other day about needing to slow down and how sometimes I just have to let go… I have to just go to bed with out getting everything on that day's "to do" list done. He told me I needed to take care of myself and get some rest… I told him not to worry, I had "rest" and "taking care of myself" on my schedule for December. Next year I'm going to have to do things a little differently. I have been operating on the "You want to book a session? Sure, I'll squeeze you in." schedule, and it's about to kick my butt. It's not the shooting, or the traveling, it's the 9pm – 3am in front of my computer every night. As soon as I get through November, I'm going to spend December & January chilling out, just shooting a couple of sessions, and then I'm going to come back with a little better time management plan. I am sooo grateful (and still amazed daily) for all the business I've been getting, I just have to figure out a better way to juggle work, family, the house, travel, etc. Don't ask me what the solution is yet… I haven't got a clue.
I have a personal challenge for you. Over the past few weeks God has really been weighing on my heart and I think I need to say thank you. I need to say thank you to some people that I really don't think realize the impact they have had on my life. There are three people that come to mind, and this week I'm going to write each of them a letter. My challenge to you is to think of someone that you need to say thank you to, and do the same. I'd love to hear about it if you do, comment or drop me an email.
And now a very rare occasion on this blog… a photo of me. Me and my sweet baby tonight. Shot in the bathroom mirror, no retouching, no make-up, hair not done… just me and the cutest little booty in town right before his bath.
Photog info… 1600 ISO, shutter speed 60, 50mm 1.4 wide open
